10 MS Word Tips & Tricks That Will Make Your Life Easier
If you are anything like me, you probably use Microsoft Word every day. Whether you are writing a paper for school or work, creating a resume, or just jotting down a quick note, Word is a program that we all use on a regular basis. Even though we use it so often, there are still a lot of features and tricks that many of us don’t know about. In this blog post, I will share with you the 10 most useful MS Word tips and tricks I use daily.
1. Use the Navigation Pane
The Navigation Pane is a great way to quickly move around a long document. To open the Navigation Pane, go to the View tab and click on the Navigation Pane button. Then, you can use the pane to search for specific words or phrases, jump to headings or bookmarks, and more.
2. Insert links
if you want to insert a link to another document or website, you can do so by selecting the text or image that you want to link and then going to the Insert tab and clicking on the Link button. In the Insert Link window, you can enter the URL or browse to the file that you want to link to.
3. Create Bookmarks
Bookmarks are a great way to quickly jump to a specific location in a document. To create a bookmark, select the text that you want to bookmark and then go to the Insert tab and click on the Bookmark button. In the Bookmark window, give your bookmark a name and then click on the Add button.
4. Insert Images
To insert an image into your document, go to the Insert tab and click on the Picture button. Then, browse to the image that you want to insert and click on the Insert button.
5. Format Text
There are a number of ways that you can format your text in Word. To change the font, go to the Home tab and click on the Font drop-down menu. To change the font size, go to the Home tab and click on the Font Size drop-down menu. To change the text color, go to the Home tab and click on the Text Color button.
6. Change Line Spacing
To change the line spacing in your document, go to the Home tab and click on the Line Spacing button. Then, select the spacing that you want from the drop-down menu.
7. Insert Page Breaks
If you want to insert a page break, go to the Insert tab and click on the Page Break button. This will insert a page break at the location of your cursor.
8. Use Tables
Tables are a great way to organize information in your document. To insert a table, go to the Insert tab and click on the Table button. Then, select the number of rows and columns that you want from the drop-down menu.
9. Insert Symbols
If you want to insert a symbol into your document, go to the Insert tab and click on the Symbol button. In the Symbol window, select the symbol that you want to insert and then click on the Insert button.
10. Use Shortcuts
There are a number of shortcuts that you can use in Word to save time. For a complete list of shortcuts, go to the File tab and click on the Options button. Then, go to the Proofing tab and click on the AutoCorrect Options button. In the AutoCorrect window, click on the AutoFormat As You Type tab and then scroll down to the “Apply as you type” section. Here, you will see a list of all the shortcuts you can use in Word.
